A Book of Metaethics
Published in Paperback by Writers Club Press (December, 2000)
Author: Andrew Minase
Average review score:

Conviction & Passion
It is ground-breaking to examine so-called grand unified theory from the author's ethical point of view. Although the theory needs to be more thorough, his passion for setting a new boundary of metaphysics appeals to those who resist to confine themselves within the limits of today's philosophical thinking. From a bookseller's perspective, it's a very good book that may be hard to find the market - just yet.

Bosnia: Fractured Region (World in Conflict)

For children, still a good book
I can not quite say this is a 5 star or 4 star book, when it has a reading level for 9-12 year olds as purported in the description. It is still a good overview of the wars in Yugoslavia and is evenhanded. One can grasp many facts about the situation with this book that can be read quickly. Likewise this pertains some to Jeffrey B. Symynkywicz's Civil War in Yugoslavia.

Bosstrology: The Twelve Bastard Bosses of the Zodiac

Dead on accurate
I would swear that the authors watched my last boss to make their description of the Scorpio Boss. This person did everything that was listed in book. I would say that if you want to understand/survive your boss, you should get this book!

The Bourbon Street Musicians

Authors: Kathy Price and Andrew Glass
Average review score:

"As grass is green, sho' nuff, y'all"
Author, Kathy Price takes the reader down to the bayou for this marvelous Cajun rendition of the ever popular, Bremen Town Musicians. Meet four elderly, musically inclined friends, a mule, a hound, a rooster, and a cat, in all their craggy glory, trying to save their hides by traveling to New Orleans. "We is goin' to Bourbon Street to bebop and jazz. You can carry a tune and you have a bit of the torch in your song, so come wit' us, and we'll mardi gras and hi-de-ho." But along the way they come across a crawfisher's shack. Inside they spy a table filled with food, and "four roughnecks eatin' wit' jackknives and thumbs." And since it was dinnertime, and they were mighty hungry, these four old friends decide to sing for their supper..... Ms Price's clever retelling is filled with captivating imagery and magic, and with its energetic, rhythmic Cajun dialect, just begs to be read aloud by an enthusiastic storytellier. Andrew Glass' bold, bright, and exuberant illustrations enhance the text with playful humor and witty detail. Perfect for youngsters 4-8, The Bourbon Street Musicians is a manic, rollicking, fun-filled romp. "As grass is green, sho' nuff, y'all."

Brat Pack Confidential
Published in Paperback by Batsford (June, 2003)
Authors: Steven Davies and Andrew Pulver

calling all sportos, metalheads, geeks, sluts, dweebies...
This book is an essential read for all wanna be Brat Packers out there. It is a comprehensive guide to the quintessential films and actors of the 80's phenomena. We are transported back in time and allowed the pleasure of reliving the birth of the ultra - knowing Generation X.

The teen movie of the 1980's was in its decade undervalued yet through informative and nostalgic retrospect this book depicts the rise, development and lasting social force of the emotionally charged collaboration of movies, performers and directors, who came to define the era.

Within the first section of the book the authors present an entertaining analysis of the key components of the Brat Pack cinema, with the films chronologically examined in detail. The plots are relived, the unmistakable one liners firmly in place and the casting and directoral decisions revealed.

The second section of the book gives biographical accounts of the indiviual performers; examining their rise, their fall and their contribution to the genre.

This book is simply priceless. It is an absolute necessity; a highly entertaining, suitably reminiscent, invaluably revealing guide to unarguably some of the most enjoyable films of the 80's.

Brave Norman
Published in Unknown Binding by Bt Bound (March, 2002)
Author: Andrew Clements
Average review score:

A great story told in simple text.
I picked up this book to share with my preschool class when we were studying pets. It is filled with good messages, and yet does not come across as being preachy. It begins with Norman being adopted from an animal shelter as an adult dog (great message #1). Eventually they learn Norman is going blind. Of course the family will keep Norman, that is never a question! (great message #2). Their older dog Lucy helps Norman by walking next to him so he doesn't bump into things (#3). Norman loves the beach because there he doesn't have to worry about bumping into things. While there, he rescues a girl struggling in the water (#4). It takes the team of people on the beach plus Norman to get the girl in safely (#5). Norman is the hero! An easy reader or a nice read for younger children. I will definitely be purchasing other books in this series.

Authors: David Sadtler, Richard Koch, and Andrew Campbell
Average review score:

effectively challenges one of the basic tenets of management
This book is a must read for progressive managers. It provides indisputable evidence of the trend to anti-conglomeration and sets out in detail the U.S. companies within the top 100 that are prime candidates for such splits. For general business readers, it provides a critical review of a previously unchallenged business thesis- that bigger is better. This book is bound to be the talk of the business commentator circuit and the handbook for the Wall St. rainmakers.

Bright Christmas : An Angel Remembers
Published in Paperback by Houghton Mifflin Co (18 September, 2000)
Authors: Kate Kiesler, Andrew Clements, and Kate
Average review score:

Excellent review from ALA's BOOKLIST magazine, Sept 1, 1996
Ages 5-8. A lovely blend of words and pictures presents the Christmas story from an angel's point of view. Daring in its attempt to explain the idea of eternity, the book rises above the mediocre as an angel explains how the supernatural has interacted with the real world to bring truth. The angel remembers events on Earth leading up to the Nativity, but he explains that in heaven, where there is no time, it is eternally the first Christmas night. Kiesler's illustrations provide a subtext to this difficult concept. Her pleasing palette, suffused with light, ranges from the golden tones of the desert to the bluish hues of dusk. Doves, found among clouds, as shadows cast in the sand, represented by feathers adrift on the wind, or on a pendant around Mary's neck, constitute a playful motif. A fine choice despite the recent glut of books on the subject of angels. -Shelley Townsend-Hudso

British Antique Furniture
This is an excellent book, very well illustrated, and includes pieces of furniture readily available in the marketplace, as well as those superb examples seen only in the finest shops and museums. The quantity of photographs makes it easy to distinguish the relative merits of different related objects. I highly recommend it.
